About Balblair Distillery
Balblair is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, with origins in 1790, sitting in the Eddern Valley south of Tain. The distillery produces vintage-dated expressions rather than age-stated releases โ meaning each bottling is from a specific year's production rather than a blend of ages โ a distinctively honest approach that reflects the distillery's character. Balblair uses traditional worm tub condensers (a rarity in modern distilling) which contribute to the spirit's robust, complex character. The distillery featured prominently in Ken Loach's film The Angels' Share (2012). A Pictish standing stone stands in a field just minutes away.
