Blairmore Car Park (Sandwood Bay access)
About Blairmore Car Park (Sandwood Bay access)
The Blairmore car park at the end of the road south of Kinlochbervie is the start point for the 4-mile walk to Sandwood Bay — widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and remote beaches in Britain. Wild overnight stays in this car park are common among walkers and motorhome travellers. The setting on the edge of the Parph — a roadless wilderness stretching to Cape Wrath — is genuinely awe-inspiring. The car park is rough and informal but large enough for motorhomes.

Arrive late afternoon, walk to Sandwood Bay (allow 2.5 hours return minimum) and be back at sunset for a memorable evening. The beach is 4 miles on foot — demanding but unmissable. Carry OS map OL451 or use offline GPS.
