Kylesku Bridge is one of the iconic landmarks of the NC500 β a graceful curved concrete bridge completed in 1984 that replaced the old car ferry crossing of Loch a' ChΓ irn BhΓ in in the heart of northwest Sutherland. The bridge is itself architecturally striking, curving in plan to align with the two shores, but it's the setting that makes it unforgettable β surrounded by a wild landscape of mountains and sea lochs with barely a building in sight. From the viewpoint below the bridge you can photograph the full sweep of the structure against the mountains. Boat trips from Kylesku pier run to Eas a' ChΓΉal Aluinn, at 200 metres the highest waterfall in Britain, tucked into a remote glen only accessible by water or a long mountain walk.
On the A894, 15 miles north of Lochinver and 15 miles south of Scourie. The bridge is unmissable on this road.
